The Greater Spokane Agricultural Area consortium recently toured WSU. The use of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) research is a hot topic in Ag and the HYPER lab has several projects poised to make advances. The original article can be found here:
HYPER lab member Ian Richardson is featured in WSU news as one of 3 graduate students to win a national research fellowship:
Jeremy Felt represented WSU at WordCamp San Francisco last weekend. His point, in my opinion, foreshadows the bright future for communication we have here at WSU:
The HYPER labs winning design for the 2014 Hydrogen Student Design Competition is featured in the Fall 2014 edition of the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture (VCEA) alumni magazine Innovation on page 18.
Check out our lab’s feature on pages 36 & 37 in the August edition of Cold Facts: The Magazine of the Cryogenic Society of America. Jake Fisher and Ian Richard are highlighted in the piece.
Google’s project Loon may be our best chance at saving the planet. Free access to humanity’s collective knowledge will do more than anything to assist those in 3rd world countries to help themselves,, and to inform those of us in the 1st world how bad things really are. The balloons used in Loon are inflated with helium, yes the same gas filling in your party balloons, that is truly a depleting planetary resource. Helium cannot be created by any process besides nuclear reactions, in the sun or deep in the earth, and has escape velocity. … » More …
Our UAS research recently appeared in the Fall 2014 WSU Alumni Magazine. This is the second time Genii has been featured in the alumni magazine. Thanks Nick for such an outstanding piece!
The Genii UAS developed by WSU MME students and the HYPER lab was recently shown in Governor Inslee’s Aerospace promotional video. Yet again demonstrating the incredible heights WSU students can achieve.
Ian Richardson and Jake Fisher won the “People’s Choice” Award for best poster at the Washington Clean Technology Alliance Showcase yesterday in Seattle. The poster presented their design for a drop-in hydrogen refueling station that won the 2014 International Hydrogen Student Competition. We’re looking forward to building the proof-of-concept station!
